Apple TV Plus’ drama Truth Be Told has picked a new co-star for its third season. Gabrielle Union joined the series to star alongside Octavia Spencer. With great anticipation, Union joined the cast after Aaron Paul and Lizzy Caplan (season one) and Kate Hudson (season two) shared the best moments with Spencer.
Based on a novel by Kathleen Barber, Truth Be Told follows journalist Poppy Scoville (Spencer), who turns into a true-crime podcast, to risk everything, including her life, to pursue truth and justice. In season three, Union (Being Mary Jane, Cheaper by the Dozen) will play Eva, an outspoken high school principal who gets involved in a problematic case.
Truth Be Told; Hello Sunshine comes from Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content. Nichelle Tramble Spellman is the creator and executive producer of the series. Season three stars executive producers Maisha Closson (Claws, The L Word: Generation Q), Spencer, Hello Sunshine’s Reese Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter, Chernin Entertainment’s Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping, and Mikkel Norgaard.
Union starred in Spectrum Originals’ series LA’s Finest for two seasons and starred in BET’s production of Being Mary Jane. His film credits include Bring It On, Bad Boys II, Almost Noel, and the upcoming The Perfect Find. The third season of the series is expected to premiere in the summer of 2022.
