Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, starring John Krasinski, will reportedly complete the series with the next fourth season, while Amazon will reportedly make a spin-off focusing on another character. According to Deadline’s report, Krasinski had committed to four seasons of Jack Ryan when he signed on for the lead role in the Prime Video action series.
Krasinski has filmed the third season, which does not yet have a release date, and it is said that production is currently underway for the fourth season. It was stated that there were no plans to continue the series after that. With Jack Ryan on the way, Amazon is said to be looking into a spin-off series starring Michael Peña and starring Domingo “Ding” Chavez, a key character from 22 novels in the Tom Clancy universe.
The character of Chavez will be introduced in the third season before taking on a prominent place in the fourth season. The next two seasons of the flagship series will help lay the groundwork for Peña’s character to potentially get his own standalone series. The new series will be aired right after the original series ends, filling its void.
Season three will find Jack on the run and in a race against time, according to the synopsis. “Jack accidentally becomes embroiled in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive in the cold. Wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue group he uncovered, Jack is forced underground, traversing Europe, trying to survive and will arise as a result of the great global conflict trying to prevent a disaster.”
