Red alert: from what age to see the latest Pixar film?

[Mis à jour le 11 mars 2022 à 11h22] Red aler tthe 25th Animation Film from Pixar Studios, is available to stream on Disney+. Subscribers to the platform streaming will be able to discover with the family the daily life of Mei Lee, a fiery and daring teenager, who turns into a giant red panda when she lets her emotions invade her. Red alert is a metaphor of puberty and adolescence for children and their parents. In France, the film is accessible to all audiences, but Disney+ recommends it for children over the age of nine.

Indeed, the subject of the Disney/Pixar film (which deals with all the physical and emotional changes of what is commonly called “the stupid age”) remains more accessible to older children soon in adolescence and their parents, even if the red panda promises to crack all ages! Directed by Domee Shi (to whom we owe the Oscar-winning short film “Bao”), Red alert brings together the English cast of the voices of Sandra Oh (Ming Lee), Rosalie Chiang (Meilin Lee), Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Jordan Fisher.

program sheet

Synopsis – Mei Lee, a 13-year-old teenager, is torn by her protective mother, her self-assurance and the upheavals of her ungrateful age. And as if that weren’t enough, whenever she feels overwhelmed by her emotions, she transforms into a giant red panda.

Red alert was originally due to be released in theaters. But the increase in coronavirus cases in early January 2022 changes the distribution strategy for this animated film. Finally, the production of the studios Pixar follow in the footsteps of Drunk and Luke before him to be released directly in streaming on Disney+. The feature film is only available to subscribers to the streaming platform from March 11, 2022and for an unlimited period.

An announced time for a cinema release, Red alert will ultimately only be available to subscribers to the Disney+ platform. The feature film has been streaming since March 11, 2022. The film is not available on platforms other than the one that distributes Disney and Pixar content.

Red alert has been available to subscribers to the Disney+ streaming platform since March 11, 2022. However, this does not exclude a DVD release. Before him, Luke and Drunk were released in physical format, whether on DVD or Blu-Ray, a few months after their release on the Mickey platform. For now, the release date of the film on DVD and Blu-Ray has not yet been announced.
