Mohamed Hamidi’s new comedy
Mohamed Hamidi is back with a new comedy-drama. The director began his film career with born somewhere (2013), and especially marked the spirits with the very funny The cow (2016). We followed an Algerian peasant who decided to go to France with his cow to take part in the Paris Agricultural Show. It’s the opposite way that will do Kad Merad in honorary citizen. The actor plays Samir Amin, a renowned writer living in Paris who, one day, has no choice but to return to Algeria since he is made “Honorary Citizen” of the city Sidi Mimoun where he was born. A return to the bled which promises to be eventful as we can see in the trailer (in one article).
Kad Merad and Fatsah Bouyahmed in duet
In the cast of honorary citizen, Mohamed Hamidi finds several interpreters that he has already directed. Kad Merad was already in A great team (2020), while Fatsah Bouyahmed wore The cow. Oulaya Amamra, Brahim Bouhel and Zinedine Soualem are also in the game. The film is to be discovered in theaters on September 14, 2022.
