François Hollande has agreed to lend his voice for the needs of an animated film inspired by the series “Silex and the City” by cartoonist Jul. The former president would have already made the recordings for this feature film which could be released in the fall of 2023.
François Hollande lends his voice
Francois Hollande would he have decided to reconvert in the cinema? The former President of the Republic (from 2012 to 2017) will in any case make his debut as voice actor for an animated film. Surprising information that comes from his entourage and by designer Jul questioned by theAFP. It is indeed for an animated film inspired by comics Silex and the City (adapted as a cartoon for Arte in 2012) that François Hollande would have agreed to embark on this exercise.

Remember that François Hollande shares his life with Julie Gayet, who has worked in the cinema as an actress and producer for several decades. If the latter is a regular in the middle, this is a first for the former president. It was then with his partner that he would have recorded the voices of characters in the film. And while Jul has already involved personalities in the series Silex and the Cityit will bea first for a President of the Republic. The author had also already asked François Hollande, years before, to lend his voice, but the latter had so far declined the invitation.
A film expected for 2023
Always near theAFP, Jul gave some details about his film. He explains in particular that the voices were already recorded before the animation was even finished, and praised the work of François Hollande.
The voices are recorded before and we animate over it. There are people who are more or less gifted. He is an insane actor. He was crazy, super funny.

We do not yet know which character will be entitled to the voice of the former President of the Republic. But the designer specifies that he “opens the film, and we find it throughout“. In addition to François Hollande, the feature film co-directed with Jean-Paul Guigue will have the voices of Guillaume Gallienne, Clément Sibony, Léa Drucker, Frédéric Pierrot, Bruno Solo and Michel Vuillermoz in its ranks. It is not yet known when the film will be released. But Jul hopes be able to present it in the fall of 2023.
