Season 3 of “Star Trek: Picard” will be the last, but there is also good news: For the final season, almost all the main characters from the iconic predecessor series have been assembled. You can see at least two of them in the trailer.

It was clear from the start that Patrick Stewart would reprise the role of Jean-Luc Picard in Season 3 of “Star Trek: Picard”, and it was also to be expected that other stars from the previous series would also be involved. However, the fact that almost all key members of the Enterprise crew from “The Next Century” will actually appear for the final season of “Picard” is still a pleasant surprise.
Just in time for First Contact Day, an unofficial holiday for “Star Trek” fans, the first teaser trailer for the third season “Picard” was released. In the trailer, we see Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes. But five other cult stars are also announced.
These ‘Star Trek’ stars are in ‘Picard’ season 3
In addition to Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard, six other actors will reprise their old “Star Trek” roles. Three of them appeared in the first two seasons of “Picard”:
Jonathan Frakes as Will Riker: He was Picard’s first officer and represented the slightly short-tempered antithesis to the level-headed captain.
Brent Spiner as Data: The highly evolved android was second in command on the Enterprise, and though he’s made of circuits and boards, he and Picard share a deep friendship.
Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi: She is half-human, half Betazoid, and therefore possesses telepathic abilities.

The following three stars celebrate their “Picard” debut:
LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forge: He served under Picard first as helmsman, then as chief engineer. Because he is blind, he relies on metal glasses.
Michael Dorn as Worf: A Klingon who left his homeland and found a new family in the Enterprise crew.
Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher: She was the chief medical officer on Picard’s Enterprise.
It’s not a complete reunion, for example, Wil Wheaton is still missing as Wesley Crusher, but the trailer may not reveal everything right away. It is at least conceivable that there will be one or two extra guest appearances during season 3.
Season 3 will be the end of “Picard”
Patrick Stewart had already hinted at it, but it wasn’t really official yet. Now the streaming service Paramount+, on which the series runs in the US, has announced (via deadline): that Star Trek: Picard will indeed end with Season 3.
Season 3 does not have a start date yet. We expect a release in 2023. Season 2 is currently in full swing. It is doubtful whether season 3 of “Picard” will continue to appear on Amazon Prime Video in this country. After all, Paramount+ should also be launched in Germany this year and “Picard” would be a strong exclusive title for the streaming service, which after all owns the series.
