13 Years of Adventure!
The scenario of Eflatun, whose story was written by Cüneyt Karakuş in 2009, was completed in 2020. The shooting of the film, which received production support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s General Directorate of Cinema, and won the CGV Mars Distribution Award from the Bosphorus Film Lab of the Bosphorus Film Festival, was completed before the pandemic.
Cüneyt Karakuş, who performed a rigorous actor’s work during the preliminary preparation stage, preferred to shoot in natural locations instead of the plateau, as he attached importance to the atmosphere-character relationship. Cüneyt Karakuş VFX, who carried out a meticulous work in the post-production process that lasted for two years, aims to embody the way visually impaired individuals perceive the world by using 2D drawings, 3D drawings, special sound effects, real images, and animations. The director, who has worked on disability for many years and opened photography exhibitions, draws portraits from the eyes of a visually impaired character and is also the director’s first feature film.
Famous actors Kerem Bürsin and İrem Helvacıoğlu take part in the movie. Bürsin gives life to the character of Oflaz in the movie; Helvağlu also plays the character of Eflatun. In the movie, Kerem Bürsin and İrem Helvacıoğlu are accompanied by Nazan Diper, Melisa Akman, Erman Okay, Semiha Bezek, Haydar Köyel, Nagihan Gürkan and Yıldız Kültür.
