The live-action series “Halo”, adapted from the cult video game Xbox, unveiled its first teaser tonight. Broadcast expected in 2022 on the Paramount + platform in the United States!
In development for many years, the adaptation of Halo will finally see the light of day on our screens. Last night, the Paramount + platform revealed a very first teaser of the live-action series, revealing to us on this occasion a first glimpse of the main protagonist Master Chief (Adjutant in French) played by Pablo Schreiber (American Gods).
The first Halo first saw the light of day in 2001 for the Xbox console. Set in the 21st century, the game follows the battle of a military colony against the Covenant, an invading race of aliens with far more advanced technology than ours. Considerable success at the time, Halo has been the subject over the years of several sequels, but also of a multiplatform development: official books, comics, and even an animated series called Halo Legends.
Originally, the adaptation project for the Halo video game was developed for cinema. In 2006, Peter Jackson was even recruited to produce the film, with his foal Neill Blomkamp (District 9) in production. Despite a script entrusted to several writers, the project had experienced several postponements following the withdrawal of the studio 20th Century Fox.
Series production Halo was not a long quiet river either. In 2018, director Rupert Wyatt (Planet of the Apes: The Origins) was hired to direct the adaptation, before withdrawing from the project due to a conflicting schedule. Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) succeeded him to direct several episodes, including the pilot.
During the filming, the two showrunners of the project also left the series for various reasons: the creator of the series Kyle Killen resigned during production, while his colleague Steven Kane retained his functions until the end of the film. filming. Neither of them will come back for the second season, if the series were to be renewed by the platform.
Remember that Paramount + is not available in France; series Halo could therefore be distributed to us via another platform.
