While we thought we would not hear too much about Final Fantasy VII Remake after its surprise arrival on PC, Square Enix continues to teaser, and to keep players in suspense.
When it’s gone, there are still: you thought the small (and big) hands of Square Enix were fully occupied working on Final Fantasy XVI or even Final Fantasy VII Remake Part. 2? Lost ! The editor does not seem to have completely closed the parenthesis of the first episode, and has just put online a very astonishing newsletter emanating directly from the Shinra:
Intergration week
In this short video, a presenter in a questionable tie informs the people of Midgar about the leak of a certain “Red XIII” who has allegedly escaped from the Shinra laboratory. The rest, you know it. As an informed connoisseur of its audience of insatiable gamers, Square Enix prefers to clarify its thoughts:
This video is part of a new campaign. It does not concern the continuation of the game, or a new DLC.
Should this simply be seen as a way to celebrate the arrival of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on the Epic Games Store? In any case, the publisher does not deprive himself of detailing the content of this port which nevertheless hides its game well:
- FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE and FF7R EPISODE INTERmission DLC;
- FF7R EPISODE INTERmission’s exclusive weapon, the Shuricac;
- The Midgar bracelet, Shinra bracelet and Don Cornéo bracelet protections;
- Accessories superstar belt, mako crystal and seraphic earrings;
- The Summoning Materia Carbuncle, Chocobo Chick and Pampa;
- 4K and HDR compatibility with frame rate up to 120 fps;
- Compatibility with XInput and DirectInput standards controllers.
Red XIII is not dead
But why then insist on the escape of Red XIII, an event which is not directly related to the additions of the Intergrade version and its two additional chapters? The mystery remains unsolved. While waiting to learn more about what the Shinra antenna has in store for us, Let us recall the statements made by co-director Naoki Hamaguchi in March 2020:
We had the feeling that the moment when Red XIII joined the group came very late in the story. So we said to ourselves that if we had to make him a full-fledged character, and let the players benefit from his characteristics and his script development, we didn’t have enough time.
So we figured the best way to get her involved would be to make her a guest. During the adventure, you will lead a trio, but Red XIII will be by your side to fight during the last part of the story.
For those who have not followed, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is available from this Thursday, December 16 on the Epic Games Store, and still on PS5.
