“Adieu Paris”, the new film by Edouard Baer, invites us to a lunch among the Parisian artistic microcosm, embodied by a royal cast. A story where laughter is on the menu, shared by men whose friendship is perhaps starting to crumble … The trailer, narrated by Edouard Baer, reveals in pictures this lunch like no other.
The gratin of the French spectacle goes to the table
For his fourth feature film as a director after La Bostella, Akoibon and Open at night, Edouard Baer puts the small dishes in the big ones with Goodbye Paris. The story ? A lunch at La Closerie des Lilas, restaurant and Mecca of Parisian life, which brings together around a pot-au-feu and according to a strict protocol figures of the Parisian artistic milieu. Edouard Baer had already filmed this mythical place in Open at night, and he makes it almost the only scene of his Goodbye Paris.
To stage this band of friends, whose friendship ages as much as their spirits age with sympathy, he gathered a formidable cast. Benoît Poelvoorde, Pierre Arditi, Bernard Murat, Jackie Berroyer, François Damiens and Bernard Le Coq, Gérard Depardieu and Daniel Prévost notably form an original troupe that has come to meet and have a good time. On the feminine side, we note the presence of Isabelle Nanty, Léa Drucker and Ludivine Sagnier.
A funny and playful trailer
We are already not sulking our pleasure to see all these actors playing their image, even if each plays a profession more or less close to his own. There is Pierre-Henry, director and theater director, as is his interpreter Bernard Murat. There is Jacques, a renowned writer played by Pierre Arditi, there is also Louki, a visual artist played by François Damiens, and Enzo, a haughty singer played by Bernard Le Coq. We still find Benoît Poelvoorde, also in his own role in Goodbye Paris. We also understand in these images that this one does not really have its place at this famous lunch, organized every year by these great artistic figures and during which they invite a new guest …
Edouard Baer introduces us in voice-over to this special lunch that Goodbye Paris, and whose trailer promises that it will be funny, rhythmic, light but in which we can guess that melancholy is never very far away.
