The Wheel of Time – Amazon Prime Video’s fantasy series The Wheel of Time has been approved for a third season, while production for the second season continues.
Fantasy TV Series The Wheel of Time Received Season 3
Based on the novels by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, the epic fantasy series was a huge success, surpassing Nielsen’s original streaming ratings in its first season. Although the fans of the story are not very happy, they are hopeful for the next season.
The Wheel of Time received an early refresh for a second season in May 2021, ahead of the first season’s long-delayed November 19 premiere. Production for the second season began in July and announcements were made for several key characters, including Elayne Trakand. Showrunner Rafe Judkins has previously stated that eight seasons of the series are planned to include the fifteen long books on which it is based so that as long as it maintains viewership numbers, there won’t be any shortage of material for the show to use as-is.
Unlike The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the next epic fantasy to be directed to Amazon Prime Video, this story takes place in a world where many can use magic, but the males who attempt it are left to fate and left to be hunted by female Aes Sedai. The prophesied savior known as the dragon has been reborn, but it is as likely to destroy the world as it is to save the world.
The overall reaction was positive, although some readers objected to some of the changes made to the adaptation. Those who knew little or nothing about the books liked the series more. Surprise maneuvers are also included for those who know the story. Since the first season also uses elements of the storyline beyond the first book of the series, it is likely that both the second and third seasons will follow the same thing. All eight episodes of the first season of The Wheel of Time are now available to watch on Amazon Prime Video Turkey.
