Among the criticisms frequently voiced about the catalog of games available on Xbox consoles by detractors of the American brand is the perceived limited number of Japanese games available. Microsoft has often raised the subject publicly and, even if it is not exclusive, significantly increased the number of Japanese licenses offered on its machines. And to believe a recent discovery, it could be that Xbox will soon welcome a famous Japanese series.
It may well be that the Xbox consoles will soon host a Japanese game that has not yet been announced. Japanese game which is moreover taken from a famous series which never made presence on Xbox until now. Indeed, a forum user Reset Era just found out that the Achievements of a mysterious game Taiko no Tatsujin have been added to the TrueAchievements site.
No room for doubt
For the sake of discretion, the actual name of the game associated with these Achievements is not revealed. The title of the Bandai Namco Entertainment series is simply listed under the title of “T Tablet_for XC. “ The illustrative images of the Successes and their description, however, leave no room for doubt. It is indeed a Taiko no Tatsujin on Xbox. FYI, this mysterious Taiko no Tatsujin Xbox allows you to unlock 89 Achievements for a total of 1,000 Gamerscore points.
Regarding the potential title of this new Japanese game for Xbox, several possibilities exist. BNE has in fact registered several brands recently. As the site reports Gematsu, these marks are “Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival” and “Taiko no Tatsujin: The Drum Master. “Knowing that the descriptions of many Achievements refer to”Drum Master, “the second option seems credible.
Towards a stronger presence of Japanese games on Xbox?
Over time, games from the Taiko no Tatsujin series have been released on many platforms. And the vast majority of these titles never left the borders of Japan. In recent years, Bandai Namco has tried to give an international dimension to its license. Indeed, recent episodes have been offered in the West on Switch and PS4. Xbox consoles have not been entitled to this so far.
Faced with this revelation, several questions arise. Will this Taiko no Tatsujin Xbox be entitled to its own Taiko controller? When will this title be announced? Is it about one of the surprises of the Game Awards 2021? Is Microsoft preparing for the arrival of other Japanese games on Xbox? Only the future will tell.
