Did you know that the title of Franck Dubosc’s first production, “Everyone standing”, broadcast this Sunday evening on TF1, was inspired by a famous blunder that occurred in front of millions of viewers? We tell you everything!
A blunder at the origin of the title of a film is quite rare! This is however the case of Tout le monde devant, the comedy by and with Franck Dubosc, broadcast this Sunday evening on TF1, the title of which is inspired by François Feldman’s big blunder during the Telethon 1996 ceremony.
During the 10th Telethon ceremony, singer François Feldman invited the public to stand up to sing his hit with him. Dont play. “Everyone standing over there”, he exclaimed full of enthusiasm, in front of an audience made up of … children in armchairs. The awkwardness, which had made a big buzz at the time, can be reviewed in the player below.
Franck Dubosc confirms that François Feldman’s big blunder is indeed at the origin of the title of his first achievement. “The working title was ‘Get up and walk’, but I didn’t find it very graceful,” he recounts. “I actually took up what François, who is a friend, said.”
“Everyone laughed a lot about this blunder committed in front of people who could not stand up, but in the end I find it very positive”, continues Dubosc. “Because standing, it’s in the head. Besides, my character says it when speaking of Florence who is handicapped:” She thinks faster, she goes faster, she lives more than us. “He means” much more than me. “”
The Florence of Everyone Standing is embodied by Alexandra Lamy, who has carried out special preparation for this role as a person with a disability. “At first, I got used to staying in a wheelchair at home where nothing is done for that, to try to move around, to take automatic actions too. Then I trained in the south of France with a tennis teacher. Two hours a day for a month. A former champion, who lives in the region, kindly lent me her chair and gave me some advice, says the actress.

And the actress continues: “Then I continued training with Emmanuelle Morch, who is part of the France team … (…) It was, in addition to what she taught me, a great meeting. I took a lot of inspiration from her, her vitality, her sunny smile. And despite the difficulties, I took great pleasure in preparing myself this way. “
