Any “Game Of Thrones” fan should remember the “coffee mug moment” in season 8 well. A modern day to-go cup was quite simply forgotten on set – and found its way into the aired episode. The error was then of course immediately corrected by HBO and the cup of contention was retouched from the episode. Little blunders like this are fairly common in film and series productions, and some fans make a sport of looking out for them. In episode 3 of “House Of The Dragon” nothing was forgotten on the set, but a computer effect was not finished…
In a scene from Episode 3, King Viserys Targaryen (Paddy Considine) can be seen with two green fingers. What it’s all about? Considine is wearing a glove with two green fingers, which were supposed to be removed in post-production with the help of visual effects. Because we remember: King Viserys’ injury to his hand, which he inflicted on the Iron Throne, led to two fingers having to be amputated in episode 2 (the treatment with maggots was apparently unsuccessful).
Here we have screenshots from episode 3 of “House Of The Dragon” at minute 42:39 for you – we edited one a bit and made the fingers “greener” and circled them so that you can see the detail clearly. The second picture shows the original screenshot, the picture is only slightly brighter overall. The green fingers are clearly visible there too. Of course, resourceful Twitter users noticed the small CGI error immediately after the episode premiered – one of the first tweets came from Sarah Capps.

Of course, in the coming hours or days, HBO should react and fix the error, just as the coffee mug (and water bottle…) from season 8 of “Game Of Thrones” were subsequently removed.
