Officially, no new Ghostbusters game has yet been announced by Ghost Corps, Columbia Pictures, etc. However, more and more elements lead to believe that something is going on. Two months ago, the co-founder of the studio Illfonic revealed that a new Ghostbusters game is in development. This time, it’s the turn of one of the main actors of the trilogy to sell the wick. The announcement therefore seems to be getting closer every day.
Ernie Hudson confirms that a new video game Ghostbusters is currently in development. As usual, the interpreter of Winston Zeddemore does the convention tour. And that’s during a question-and-answer session organized during the CelebFanFest Film Festival that he mentioned this new project. Asked about the possibility of a new Ghostbusters game, Ernie Hudson did not beat around the bush:
I just got an email because we are going to make another video game. They are planning the recording sessions. I’m not totally sure who is going to do it, but I know me and Danny (Dan Aykroyd) will. I’m not sure Billy (Bill Murray) is going to do anything about it. So there is going to be another video game.

Ernie Hudson also explains that he received images of his character to validate his in-game appearance. He claims, however, that the developers seem to have difficulty reproducing it properly:
They sent me prototypes of the characters in order to get the good rendering. And for some reason they seem to have a hard time creating my image. I find it so weird that they manage to make Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis look perfect the way they actually look while I end up looking like Eddie Murphy or whoever I know.
Ernie Hudson adds that he doesn’t know when the game will be released but that there is “no doubt“on its existence. The statements of the comedians in any case lead to believe that the four original Ghostbusters will appear in the game. Regarding the scenario or the gameplay, nothing has been revealed for the moment.
A new Ghostbusters game, yes, but when?
Obviously, nothing allows for the moment to say that this Ghostbusters game is the same as the one Raphael Saadiq spoke about last October. However, it would be curious if two competing Ghostbusters games were in development simultaneously. Nothing has yet been officially announced regarding this new title.
In the meantime, Ghostbusters fans can fall back on two recent games. The first, Dreams, currently features an official Ghostbusters Afterlife minigame. The second, Ghostbusters: Afterlife ScARe, is a mobile game featuring several of the comedians from the new film.
