A few days before the release of Danganronpa Decadence, the creators of the license announce with some necessarily intriguing images their next title: Enigma Archives Rain Code.

In the fall of 2018, the ex-Danganronpa studio was already seeing the big picture, and suddenly announced the development of four titles. Death Come True and World’s End Club both being released in 2020, and Tribe Nine having already been announced in February 2020, it only remained to discover which one was billed as “the partnership between Tookyo Games and Spike Chusoft”. It’s now done with the very first teaser of Enigma Archives Rain Code.

A long gestation

The music composed by Masafumi Takada will not fail to immediately plunge the extreme investigators and survivors in the ruthless universe of sadistic bear Monokuma.

And for those who would raise a questioning eyebrow, the brilliant genitor of Danganronpa Kazutaka Kodaka made a point of clarifying on a famous social network in what context he imagined this new universe of dark fantasy :

I started working on Enigma Archives Rain Code right after Danganronpa V3. So it’s been five years, and it’s a masterpiece.

Shakin ‘his big gray trunk for the hell of it

Very few elements allow us to take Mr. Kodaka’s word for the moment, since this first trailer is still particularly enigmatic: between an atmosphere of almost cyberpunk neon lights, a pyramid surrounded by elephants of all colors and two protagonists with a priori tumultuous relations, there are many avenues …

May spectators and other mystery enthusiasts be reassured: we should soon find out what it is all about, sinceEnigma Archives Rain Code has already been announced for release in 2022 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
