Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson are currently featured in Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” entertainment. The two actors will again collaborate on a film in the vein of Sherlock Holmes that Amazon has just acquired.
Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson have fun in Jungle Cruise
The cinematographic summer has just been disrupted by sanitary measures but we remember above all that many films are to be seen in theaters. We were able to complain, last year, of not having had any fun to eat. Impossible to say the same in 2021. July 28 has arrived Jungle Cruise on display. A Disney production adapted from an attraction, starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. They play respectively Frank Wolff and Lily Hougton, in a quest to find a miracle cure in the heart of the Amazon jungle.
A more than honest show, which can suit the whole family in this summer period. The film is based in particular on a duo that works very well. This experience now makes them want to work together again. Deadline reveals that they are concerned by a project that Amazon has just got their hands on. An outcome that comes after a big battle in Hollywood to win the rights.
The start of a franchise?
The film does not yet have a title but we know what the script written by Gustin Nash will be about. Emily Blunt will star, that of Kate Warne, the first woman to become a Pinkerton Agency detective. The project is described by the American media as a female Sherlock Holmes in a world dominated by men. An approach already used a little in Enola Holmes, even if it was a teenager and not an adult. If Amazon has held up in auctions, it’s because it exists this possibility of starting a franchise carried by the heroine. It is still too early to talk about it but we imagine that the idea must have been considered.
In contrast to Jungle Cruise, the collaboration between Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson will take place behind the scenes. The Rock is only involved as a producer through his company Seven Bucks Productions. We would have liked to see the two side by side, but it will not be this time. Maybe Disney will continue to bet on them with a Jungle Cruise 2. For now, a sequel has not been officially mentioned.
