Fans have been waiting for the sequel to ‘Elusive 2’ for six years now. But while we had not had any news of the project for years, a director has finally been chosen to put it in a box.
Elusive 3 has kept us waiting for years…
In 2013 released in theaters Elusive. The film features “The Four Horsemen”, magicians and illusionists considered to be the best in their field. Rather than performing simple tricks, they decide to rob a bank and rob a shady insurer by redistributing his fortune to members of the public present at their show. Pursued by the FBI, they then promise to perform one last trick, the most spectacular of all…
With its impressive cast and original concept, Elusive received a good reception at its output. Lionsgate therefore launched a sequel, unveiled in 2016. This one also worked well in the rooms. We have therefore been waiting since to discover the third part. Especially since the studio had announced its start even before the release of the second, and that the latter ended on a cliffhanger. Despite this, Lionsgate has not given any news of the project for years. But this has finally changed.

The film is finally moving forward!
This time, Elusive 3 is well on track! Deadline thus tells us that Lionsgate has just found a director for the film. Ruben Fleischer was chosen. His latest project was Uncharted. The filmmaker will therefore find Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, whom he has already directed together in Welcome to Zombieland and its sequel. Fleischer said he was delighted to work with them again:
There are three things I love about this world… Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and magic. Having the chance to work with these two talented actors, and the rest of the incredible cast of Elusive films, is a dream come true. I’ve always been a fan of heist movies – I love being drawn to their twists and mysteries where nothing is as it seems. And that’s even more true when the thieves are magicians – the possibilities are endless.
On the casting side, Fleischer therefore confirms thatEisenberg and Harrelson will reprise their roles. It also hints that the rest of the main cast from the first two installments will also be back. Whatever, Lionsgate has also hired Seth Grahame-Smith to work on a new version of the screenplay, which Fleischer will oversee. The previous version of the script was written by Eric Warren Singer. However, the studio has not yet given a release date for Elusive 3. But we can speculate that the film will probably not be ready before 2024.
