Comedian Elijah Wood, star of the Lord of the Rings saga, recently spoke about his willingness to appear in a Star Wars movie or a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie.
Elijah Wood: Eternally Frodo
Elijah Wood is most famous for playing Frodo in the trilogy The Lord of the Rings. Inseparable from the films of Peter Jackson, this certainly remains the greatest role of his career. Yet that’s not the only arrow in his cinematic bow. Elijah Wood began his career in 1989 with a tiny role in Back to the future 2. He then goes on to make small appearances in productions like The Adventures of Oliver Twist, The Faculty or Deep Impact.
It is obviously the saga The Lord of the Rings which will give him more fame. He then appears in more famous feature films such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sin city or Hooligans. Unfortunately for him, the 2010s are more complicated. The actor has difficulty finding roles to his measure, and then appears in short films or in second-class television series. Lately, Elijah Wood was in the cast of I don’t feel at home in this world, The Last Witch Hunter or Dirk Gently. It will also soon be showing at No man of God and the remake of The Toxic Avenger.
Soon in a Marvel or a Star Wars?
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Elijah Wood said he would like to have the chance to “Play again in a large sandbox”. He made it clear his desire to appear in the MCU or in a future movie Star wars :
I think it’s just fun on its own. I haven’t had the chance to play in a giant sandbox for a while… I have a preference for Star Wars because I’m a big fan of this saga. But I would love to work on a Marvel movie. There’s obviously this whole conversation going on about Marvel’s cinematic relevance. Is it cinema? And whether you like superhero movies or not, they’re inherently fun. And these films are extremely well made.
Elijah Wood went on to say that commuting to work in such an environment is something he finds ” absolutely awesome “. The actor is thus eager to rediscover these sensations, more than a decade after the end of The Lord of the Rings. More, Elijah Wood already has a past with Star Wars. Indeed, he lent his voice to Rucklin in the animated series. Star Wars: Resistance.
