Another important name has been added to the second season of the series.



Elijah Wood is the latest star to join the second season cast of Showtime’s “Yellowjackets.” Wood will guest star for one season as Walter, a private detective who will challenge Misty (Christina Ricci) in ways she never expected. Wood is the latest addition to the second season of the critically acclaimed drama. It was previously announced that Simone Kessell will appear as the adult Lottie, while Lauren Ambrose will play the adult Van.
Wood is best known for his role as Frodo Baggins in the “Lord of the Rings” film trilogy. Furthermore, he is known for roles like “Sin City”, “The Faculty”, “Green Street Hooligans” and “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”. He previously acted in TV series like “Wilfred” and “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency”. Wood, Daniel Noah, and Josh C. Waller founded the production company SpectreVision in 2010.
“Yellowjackets” tells the story of a team of highly talented high school female soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complex but successful team to the wild clans, while also following the lives they try to reunite nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never past and what started in the wild is far away.
The first season also starred Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Nélisse, Steven Krueger and Warren Kole. The series was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, who served as executive producers and co-showrunners with Jonathan Lisco. Karyn Kusama also produced and directed the pilot episode. “Yellowjackets” was nominated for seven Emmy Awards, including best drama series for its first season, best actress for Lynskey, and best supporting actress for Ricci.
