The film “Eflatun” will have its world premiere in the Bosphorus Film Festival National Feature Film Competition section, which will be held between October 21-28!

The shooting of the film, which received the CGV Mars Distribution Award from the Bosphorus Film Lab of the Bosphorus Film Festival and the production support from the Ministry of Culture, was completed before the pandemic. Cüneyt Karakuş is the director and scriptwriter of the film, in which natural locations are preferred instead of a plateau for shooting.
Cüneyt Karakuş VFX, who carried out a meticulous work in the post-production process that lasted for two years, aims to embody the way visually impaired individuals perceive the world by using 2D drawings, 3D drawings, special sound effects, real images and animations. The director, who has been working on disability and opening photography exhibitions for many years, draws portraits from the eyes of a visually impaired character, and is also the director’s first feature film.
Famous actors Kerem Bürsin and İrem Helvacıoğlu take part in the movie. Bürsin gives life to the character of Oflaz in the movie; Helvağlu also plays the character of Eflatun. The cast of the film also includes Nazan Diper, Melisa Akman, Erman Okay, Semiha Bezek, Haydar Köyel, Nagihan Gürkan and Yıldız Kültür.
Eflatun tells the story of a young woman who lost her sight at the age of five, and a young woman who clings to life by using the voice and shadow plays taught by her father and the echolocation method, and a man whose voice she fell in love with.
