American actress Emily Blunt talks about a “funny” memory during the filming of “Edge of Tomorrow”, alongside the famous Tom Cruise. Explanations below.
Edge of Tomorrow : Emily Blunt on the edge of the abyss?
Released in 2014, Edge of Tomorrow convinces critics as well as spectators. Doug Liman’s film (Things People Do) takes place in an SF dystopia. Thereby, cohorts of extraterrestrials have, after a fierce battle, taken control of the Earth. No human army was able to defeat them. However, William Cage, a commander who has never directly taken part in a conflict, is sent on what could be described as a suicide mission. If he does not take long to find death, the hero wakes up trapped in a time loop. He must then relive the same fight over and over again… until he triumphs?
Headlining the feature film, we find Tom Cruise, iconic Ethan Hunt in the saga Impossible missionbut also the talented Emily Blunt (Without a sound). On the podcast mic SmartLessthe actress looks back on the set of the film, and more particularly on a “funny” episode.
Tom Cruise’s “Encouragement”
The British actress remembers her dismay after putting on the famous costumes ofEdge of Tomorrow, and we can understand it! In effect, the entire outfit weighed no less than forty kilos, making the exercise particularly tricky. A literal pressure that has undermined the morale of Emily Blunt. The latter explains have burst into tears shortly after putting on the costume for the first time, destabilized by the idea of not being able to play properly. She then sees herself turning to her playing partner and telling him of her trouble.
