Benedict Cumberbatch has reportedly joined the Dungeons & Dragons cast which is currently filming in the UK, in a role as yet unknown.
According to the magazine The Sun, Benedict Cumberbatch has reportedly joined the cast of Dungeons & Dragons, currently filming in the UK. Its role is not yet known. The actor would thus find Chris Pine, to whom he has already given the reply in Star Trek Into Darkness, as well as Michelle Rodriguez, Rege-Jean Page and Justice Smith.
If this information were to be confirmed, it would not be the first participation of Benedict Cumberbatch in the franchise, the comedian indeed made the narration of the recent animated short Sleep Sound, which tells the origin of Drizzt Do ‘ Urden in the Forgotten Realms campaign in Dungeons & Dragons.
Cumberbatch has completed filming on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and his future plans are only in the writing stages. As a reminder, the British actor will star in Colin Trevorrow’s war film War Magician, share the Rio poster with Jake Gyllenhaal and play the hero of the 39 steps miniseries.
Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, the film adaptation of the famous Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing game is due out in our theaters on March 1, 2023.
