There are problems behind the scenes with the upcoming MCU film “Blade”, which means that the originally planned theatrical release in early November 2023 is no longer possible. The MCU vampire actioner has been pushed back by almost a year. This set off a whole chain reaction of further shifts – especially at Marvel … but not only!
Because the competition is also reacting to Disney’s “Blade” shift – above all Warner. The studio quickly snagged the old “Blade” date and made the sequel to “Dune’ placed on it. “Dune 2” is now coming to US cinemas on November 3, 2023. The new German date will probably be November 2, 2023 (but has not yet been announced). So far, the sci-fi sequel was scheduled for April 16/17. It’s scheduled for November, so it’s now two weeks earlier.
This brings you back to the originally planned date of the end of October 2023, from which you previously deviated.
The many fans of the celebrated predecessor “Dune’ should be happy about that. After all, they now find out a little earlier how the story continues in Denis Villeneuve’s theatrical adaptation (which differs from Frank Herbert’s original in a few respects).

I’m remembering the events in “Dune”following sequel”Dune 2” returns among other things, of course, Timothée Chalamet as the main actor Paul Atreides. Also returning are Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem, among others.
There are also numerous newcomers – above all Christopher Walken as Emperor, Florence Pugh as his daughter Irulan and “Elvis-Star Austin Butler as the ruthless Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, who wanted to rule over Arrakis.
