Dragon Ball Z reviewed by the Artistic Director of God of War Ragnarök

From his dual role as artistic director of Sony Santa Monica and lead artist of the God of War games, it would be logical to think that Raf Grassetti does not have much time to embark on other projects. And yet, the artist continues to multiply the projects. When he does not sell NFTs of his works, he continues to pay tribute to the licenses dear to his heart.

The prolific artistic director of God of War Ragnarök had fun recreating characters from Dragon Ball Z. And as usual, he shared his creations on social networks. Raf Grassetti therefore attacked several protagonists of Akira Toriyama’s work.

A successful tribute to Dragon Ball Z?

And contrary to what one might think, he was not only interested in the main characters. Indeed, Raf Grassetti has seen Chaozu, Frieza, Buu (and Babidi), Piccolo, Matin Buu, Dabra, Mr Satan, Cell and Guldo. This rendition of Dragon Ball Z by the artist behind the latest God of War is available in our gallery below.

One element surprises with this work of Raf Grassetti on Dragon Ball Z. Indeed, all the characters do not seem to have been made with the same style. Some, like Majin Buu or Guldo, seem very close to the appearance they have in the original work. Others, like Piccolo or Cell, seem more reworked.

Pop Culture with God of War sauce

Note that the artistic director of God of War is far from being his first attempt. He has in the past attacked license characters such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman or Power Rangers. And each time, the works are worth a look.

Finally, let’s remember that God of War Ragnarök is still in development. As for its release date, there is simply talk of marketing in 2022 right now.

What do you think of this new project from the artistic director of the last God of War? Do you think his style suits Dragon Ball Z? Which protagonist do you think is the most successful? Do you prefer DBZ characters in Raf Grassetti sauce or Jump Force version? Give us your opinion in the comments below.
