As we told you yesterday, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was treated to its own panel at New York Comic-Con 2021. As we approached this event, we were wondering if it would be the scene of the broadcast of new images from the film. The title of this news shows that the answer to this question is “yes.” In addition to these first clips, a number of new information about the film has been communicated.
Toei Animation has just unveiled the very first trailer for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. And as many Dragon Ball fans dreaded, this new film is made in CGI. At first glance, the graphic style of the film is not unlike that of some Dragon Ball Z video games. And as you might expect, this artistic direction immediately sparked debate among fans.
In parallel with the broadcast of this video, members of the film crew provided some details about it. The two unpublished characters presented via artworks several months ago have finally been named. They are therefore called Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. The reasons for their presence have not been given, but the editing of the video suggests that they are after Piccolo.
Who is the Super Hero?
Another element revealed yesterday, the return of the Red Ribbon Army. While its role has not been clarified, it appears that several of its members will be key elements of the plot. Toei Animation also made a point of emphasizing the importance of Piccolo in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.. In addition to taking action, the popular Namek will also take care of Pan.
And speaking of Video and Gohan’s daughter Pan, is a few years older in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero than she was in the DBS series. Obviously, the feature film will show that the little girl’s training has begun.
Finally, the last element to underline concerns Broly. If Toei Animation did not insist on his presence in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, he is there. Indeed, a 34-second freeze frame in the trailer shows him in a fight in which Goku is also participating.
Right now, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is slated for 2022. Toei Animation, however, would like to stress that its release period will not necessarily be the same from country to country.
