Batman or Flash. The new Spider-Man reboot. Marginalized X-Men. The evolution of the character of Captain America. The intricate architecture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Indie attempts. Superheroes on the big and small screen hold no secrets for him. Or almost.

Expected in the credits of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, which is scheduled for release on March 23, 2022 in France, Elizabeth Olsen revealed that Scarlet Witch would once again have her Sokovian accent, following the events of “WandaVision”.

Engine! Accent ! After being at the heart of WandaVision, which marked the kickoff of Phase IV of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Scarlet Witch will return to the big screen thanks to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, expected on March 23, 2022 in our theaters. If we do not yet know what will be his involvement in the film signed Sam Raimi, a change of vocal order is expected on the side of Elizabeth Olsen.

In an interview given to Rolling Stone, the interpreter of Wanda Maximoff has indeed specified that his character would reconnect with his accent of Sokovia, fictional country where the super-heroine is from: “It all started with Civil War”, she explains. “The Russos [réalisateurs du film, ndlr] were like ‘Can her accent be less pronounced because she lives in the United States and is supposed to have spoken more English?’ And that wasn’t a problem for me. “

“But I can tell you that in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, following her experience in WandaVision, she reverts to a more character-true accent.” Available on Disney +, the series saw her evolve in an atmosphere inspired by various American sitcoms, while confronting the pains of her past, before fully assuming her identity as Scarlet Witch and the impressive powers that go with it.

That she reconnects with this accent which is part of her origins and her identity therefore seems logical. Now it remains to be seen how Scarlet Witch fits into the narrative of the film which will tie into WandaVision and Spider-Man – No Way Home (due December 15) and which may finally establish the MCU as a multiverse.

Next meeting with Marvel: “Black Widow”, July 7th
