We are now less than a month away from the release of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”. The opportunity for Marvel Studios to further accelerate the promotion of the film with a brand new teaser that contains important elements.
Doctor Strange 2: more than a few weeks to wait
Expected May 4, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness keeps talking about him. Directed by Sam Raimi, the feature film will tell the continuation of Strange’s adventures within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The story goes takes place directly after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and explains how Strange is going to have to fix his mistakes while traveling through the multiverse.
If the film is so expected, it’s because it should feature never-before-seen reunions in the MCU. It will be a kind of Spider-Man: No Way Home bigger and stronger. We know, for example, that Patrick Stewart will return as Charles Xavier for movie purposes. And it is rumored that many other characters, whether old, from other franchises, current or never before introduced, could appear in Sam Raimi’s feature film.

A brand new teaser (or rather TV spot) of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness just shared by Marvel Studios. 30 short seconds which however offer an impressive number of references and a nod to comics. This announces very heavy concerning the film of Sam Raimi. Indeed, within seconds Marvel Studios was completely obsessed with fans.
In the multiverse of references
First, the word Nightmare is once again spoken, this time not by Strange like in the first trailer, but by Wanda. An element that obviously revives the hypothesis of the presence of Nightmare (Nightmare in VO) in the film. As a reminder, Nightmare is a powerful antagonist of Dr. Strange, king of the dream world, who feeds on the nightmares of humans to gain power. We had already, in the past, written a whole article about it.

Then, and there we also suspected a little, Wanda’s children are back. Remember, in Wanda Vision, The Scarlet Witch creates a reality in which Vision is still alive. She moves in with him for a lifetime, and they even have children. Except that these disappear at the same time as Westview, and all the illusory madness of our heroine. However, the show’s post-credits scene suggested her children were still alive, in another reality. Obviously, Wanda will find the trace of her two little boys, who are none other than Wiccan and Speed in the comics.
Another element of this teaser is the presence of a new monster in the MCU. In one shot of this short teaser, Wong and Wanda fight side by side, aided by a huge unidentified creature. It is still unknown where this big monster comes from, but there is a good chance that it comes from the multiverse. The teaser also reminds us that Dark Strange is in the game. The character even regained his third cyclops eye, already represented in the series What If…?.

Finally, one last element caught the attention of fans: Wanda’s Sokovian accent. The Scarlet Witch indeed seems to resume her original accent in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Her childhood accent returns when Wanda feels threatened or when brought back to family memories. The last time she used it was when she was going crazy in Wanda Vision. Which suggests that the magician could once again switch to the dark side. Anyway, all these images promise a totally crazy movie. Big rush, and we’re not the only ones!
