Still a few hours to wait before the passage of Santa Claus. To occupy the youngest or spend a delicious moment with your loved ones, here are five films to (re) discover with the family on Disney +. On the program: an adorable bear, a cult film …

PADDINGTON

On Christmas Eve, the most adorable bear in cinema puts his suitcase on Disney +. The perfect opportunity to (re) discover the history of Paddington and his great London adventure in this unmissable comedy by Paul King, which features the character from children’s literature created by Michael Bond.

Bring together some of Britain’s biggest stars – Julie Walters, Sally Hawkins, Peter Capaldi, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Bonneville, and the voices of Michael Gambon and Imelda Staunton – add a crisp hero, heartwarming storyline and a hint of Guillaume Gallienne in French, and you get delicious entertainment for young and old!

After conquering spectators when it was released in theaters in 2014, Paddington will capsize the hearts of subscribers at the end of the year on Disney +. Also find the endearing bear cub in Paddington 2, with Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson.

THE RETURN OF MARY POPPINS

A little magic trick to end the year on a high note? Embark on a fabulous adventure full of surprises in front of The Return of Mary Poppins. 56 years after enchanting French spectators on the big screen for the first time, the most famous cinema nanny has recently taken up residence on Disney +.

In the title role, Emily Blunt brilliantly succeeds the unforgettable Julie Andrews, to help Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw), now an adult and father. While he struggles to make ends meet and keep the family home, Mary Poppins will once again lend him a hand in her own way, with fantasy and enthusiasm.

Paced with catchy new songs, Rob Marshall’s feature film (Chicago, Into the Woods) brings together a beautiful star-studded cast: Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emily Mortimer, Julie walters, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury and the return of Dick Van Dyke, who played Bert in the first Mary Poppins movie. Let yourself be charmed by the whimsical nanny in The Return of Mary Poppins!

THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR KINGDOMS

An essential character for the end of the year celebrations and a true tradition on the other side of the Atlantic, The Nutcracker comes to life on screen in The Nutcracker and the Four Kingdoms, which adapts both the German tale of Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann and the famous Tchaikovsky ballet.

In her first leading film role, Mackenzie Foy (Black Beauty) plays Clara, a young girl in search of a very precious key that can unlock a gift left by her mother before she dies. Her quest leads her into a mysterious world with stunning settings and populated by colorful inhabitants.

This enchanted universe staged by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston also hosts Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and Jayden Fowora-Knight. Are you ready to push open the doors to the magical world of The Nutcracker and the Four Realms?

ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS

As Christmas approaches, the tree where Alvin, Simon and Theodore lived is cut down. Fortunately, the three adorable chipmunks find refuge with Dave (Jason Lee)… and on Disney +. This year, (re) discover the story of these squirrels like no other (yes, they speak!), Who will become real music stars.

Born from the imagination of composer Ross Bagdasarian in 1958, these crazy characters have made their mark on television and on the big screen over the years. In 2007, they first appeared in a live action film with digitized creatures in Alvin and the Chipmunks, which would be followed by three other feature films.

These blundering and energetic heroes have in store for you a completely crazy adventure and heady covers that will make you want to dance on the occasion of the holiday season!

MOM I MISSED THE PLANE

If you are in a nostalgic mood or want to share a good time with your children, here is a seasonal classic that we never tire of: Mum, I missed the plane, the unforgettable face-to-face between the young Kevin McCallister and two not very smart burglars, camped by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.

Forgotten by his family at Christmas, the little boy played by Macaulay Culkin instantly won over viewers with his foolproof ingenuity. With its memorable sequences, irresistible gags and music by John Williams, this comedy by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) has become a must on the watch-list …
