Find the episodes mentioned below on the platform Disney +.
BUFFY VS THE VAMPIRES (Season 6, Episode 7)
In a cult episode of the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, titled Let the show begin, the arrival of the demon Sweet forces the inhabitants of Sunnydale to give voice. Played by Broadway star Hinton Battle, he compels the Slayer and her friends to reveal their feelings through song and dance. What better way to express your moods than with music?
The songs in this episode, considered by many to be one of the best of the series, were written and composed by Joss Whedon.
SCRUBS (season 6, episode 6)
What if everything around you turns out like a musical? It is from this mysterious syndrome that the patient Patti Miller (Stephanie D’Abruzzo) suffers in the episode My musical by Scrubs. An ideal pretext to blackmail JD, Turk, Elliot, Carla and even Drs Cox and Kelso on songs with wacky lyrics and full of humor.
This episode received five Emmy nominations, including Best Original Music and Best Direction for a Comedy Series!
GRAY’S ANATOMY (Season 7, Episode 18)
Also in the halls of a hospital, the doctors of Grey’s Anatomy also tried their hand at the song in the musical episode Love, pray, sing. After a traffic accident, Dr. Callie Torres is plunged into a coma. As if out of her body, she attends the efforts of her colleagues to save her, as well as impressive sung performances.
The perfect opportunity for actress Sara Ramirez, winner of a Tony Award, to show the full extent of her talent, performing not original songs, but tracks like Chasing Cars from Snow Patrol or How to Save a Life by The Fray. An episode inspired in part by that of Buffy the vampire slayer after Shonda Rhimes.
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (season 5, episode 12)
Even if it is not a musical episode strictly speaking, the 100th episode of the inevitable sitcom How I Met Your Mother concludes with an impressive sung number: Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit.
Conducted in a masterful voice by Neil Patrick Harris, aka Barney Stinson, this performance also reunites his co-stars Josh Radnor, Alyson Hannigan, Jason Segel and Cobie Smulders. A true declaration of love for the favorite outfit of the gangster: his costume!
ONCE UPON A TIME (Season 6, Episode 20)
Music has always been a staple of great Disney animation hits. The Once Upon a Time series, which features many fairy tale characters well known to the public, from Belle to Captain Hook, will nevertheless have waited for its sixth season to offer a musical episode.
A wish from Snow White to help her daughter Emma is at the origin of these sung sequences. Don’t expect to hear famous Disney tracks though, as original songs have been written especially for the occasion!
THE SIMPSONS (season 9, episode 12)
Homer Simpson hates musicals, or at least he likes to pretend in the episode Singing Simpsonnerie. Unfortunately for him, Marge knows him better than anyone. She then decides to show him extracts from old episodes of the animated series to prove to him in pictures that he loves to sing and dance.
With 32 seasons to its credit, the most famous family of the small screen has also repeated the musical experience on several occasions in The Simpsons.
