It’s a fact, Wonder Woman 84 was received much more coldly than the first film. Enough to stop director Patty Jenkins and Warner Bros ? No, both have more than one trick up their sleeve.
A Wonder Woman 4 after the third film?
After the failure of Wonder Woman 84 against its elder, one would have thought that Warner Bros wasn’t going to come back or look for another director. On IMDb, the sequel is only at an average of 5.4 against 7.4/10 for the first part. Same trend on Rotten Tomatoes where WW1 obtained 93% at the Tomatometer with the macaron “Certified Fresh » awarded to the highest rated films and series. And WW84? 53% with a green splash in mode Splatoon. This represents films or series with less than 60% positive reviews…
With our colleagues from CinéSéries, it did not happen:
Wonder Woman 1984 is a boring, poorly oiled blockbuster full of clichés. While trying to offer an old school, almost parodic cinema, Patty Jenkins signs a superhero film that is 20 years late.

Many did not understand how the result could be so different between the two opuses when they are both made by Patty Jenkins. Unfortunately, we don’t have the answer but get ready because the latter has already just teaser Wonder Woman 4…
Where I had said I was only going to do one, I finally found myself saying “oh my god, I have to do two”. And even now, I say “that’s it” because I’m still planning a three-movie arc. There is a story that runs through these three different films to form a whole. But even now as I wrote the final scene of Wonder Woman 3 last week, I think I might be interested in the sequel. They had asked us to reflect (note: Warner Bros.) to ways to do more and it did. But we never know. I have a lot of other movies that I can’t wait to do as well. And since I love Gal Gadot, it’s even better.
