While waiting for the return of Dexter Morgan with Dexter: New Blood, we can review the entirety of Dexter, eight seasons from today on MyCanal.
Dexter is the quintessential anti-hero and for eight seasons he gave us goosebumps. Dexter Morgan, the Miami serial killer camped with maddening charisma by Michael C. Hall, has made history in TV series.
It is clear that Dexter is a serial killer … not quite like the others. For starters, because he works for the Miami Police Department as a forensic expert. And in the same police station as his sister Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) who is an inspector.
Secondly, because he describes himself as a sort of vigilante. To quench his thirst for blood, he only tracks killers who have escaped the police as his father Harry Morgan (James Remar) – incidentally a police officer and aware of his son’s murderous impulses – taught him.
Over the course of the eight seasons, he faced formidable killers, fell in love, started a family and then lost everything. These are 96 episodes and 138 victims who succumb under his blade. And a very specific modus operandi: a room covered in plastic and transformed into an improvised operating room, a victim tied to a table, a gag to prevent him from screaming and a (very large) knife.
This is enough to wait before finding Dexter Morgan in Dexter: New Blood with a season of 10 episodes, most likely in November. Dear Dexter is spending quiet days in a small town in New York State under a new identity. But we have to believe that his past will catch up with him …
