The Deauville festival will be held from September 2 to 11. American cinema will be highlighted there with in particular expected previews such as “Blonde”, “Don’t Worry Darling”, the film “X”, or even “When You Finish Saving the World”.
The American film festival announces its program
As every year, the Deauville Festival offers festival-goers a look at american cinema through a selection of independent films in competition, as well as numerous previews. Since 2020, french cinema There is also a place thanks to the “Window on French cinema” section, while a handful of feature films presented at the Cannes festival are entitled to a second highlight. Not to mention the famous “Uncle Sam’s Docs” which, through a variety of subjects, deal with America at all levels.
For this 48th edition, the Deauville Festival has concocted a great program for us. As announced a few days ago, Andrew Dominik and Ana de Armas will come to present the long-awaited Netflix film Blonde hairin which the actress stunningly embodies Marilyn Monroe. The actress will receive the New Hollywood Prize on this occasion. The festival will also host Thandiwe Newton to give him a Deauville Talent Award, while Lucy Boynton, discovered in Deauville with Sing Street in 2016, will also receive the New Hollywood Award.
Call Jane with Elizabeth Banks and Sigourney Weaver will open, while Don’t Worry Darling by Olivia Wilde with Florence Pugh and Harry Styles will close this edition. Note also the horror film X and the directorial debut of Jesse Eisenberg, When You Finish Saving the World, both featured in the “Premieres” section. The actor and now director will receive a Deauville Talent Award.
