Two weeks before kick-off, the 47th edition of the Deauville American Film Festival is unveiled a little more. Discover now the members of the Jury but also the new films of the Official Selection.

Warner Bros. France

This year, the Deauville Festival will be held from September 3 to 12 and we now know who will have the difficult task of deciding the 13 films in Competition.

The president of the Jury, Charlotte Gainsbourg, will thus be surrounded by the director Bertrand Bonello, the novelist Delphine de Vigan, the actress Garance Marillier, the filmmaker Mikhaël Hers, the actress Fatou N’Diaye, the actor Denis Podalydès, the director Marcia Romano and finally musician SebastiAn.

The members of the Revelation Jury, chaired by Clémence Poésy, were also announced. It is the actresses Céleste Brunnquell and India Hair as well as the actor Kacey Mottet Klein and the rapper Lomepal who will help the actress of Tenet to present the Louis Roederer Foundation Prize for Revelation.

THE DUNE EVENT

In addition, in addition to the four previews already announced, other films will be presented before their official releases:

The festival organizers had also promised a “long-awaited surprise film”: it is therefore Dune by Denis Villeneuve.

This new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s work is carried by a five-star cast (Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Jason Momoa…) and will be released in French theaters on September 15th.

JOHNNY DEPP IN THE HONOR

A selection “L’Heure de la Croisette” will present a few feature films that have already appeared in Cannes, such as Julie (in 12 chapters) by Joachim Trier or La Fracture by Catherine Corsini, as well as the documentary JFK L’Enquête by Oliver Stone. The latter will be present on site and festival-goers will be able to discuss with him during a public meeting on Saturday, September 4.

Finally, Johnny Depp will also make the trip to Normandy to present City of Lies by Brad Furman in which he investigates the death of rappers 2Pac and Notorious BIG The actor boycotted by Hollywood since his legal problems even agreed to meet the public, Sunday September 5.
