Actor Paul Herman has died aged 76. His partner in the series The SopranosMichael Imperioli announced the sad news, relayed by Deadline. The interpreter of Christopher Moltisanti said:
Our friend and colleague Paul Herman has passed away. Paulie was a great guy. A first-class storyteller and one hell of an actor. Goodfellas, Once Upon a Time in America, The Irishman and of course The Sopranos are some of his most famous works. Paulie has lived close to my house for the past few years and I’m glad we were able to spend some time together before he left us. I’ll miss him. Much love to his family, friends and our community of actors and filmmakers.
Between 2000 and 2007, Paul Herman as Beansie Gaeta in the cult program created by David Chase. Following a financial dispute with Richie Aprile (David Proval), the latter rolls over his legs and leaves him paralyzed. Beansie then moved to Miami and kept good relations with Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini).

Brooklyn native Paul Herman began his career in the 1980s, notably in Once upon a time in America. Subsequently, he toured several times under the direction of Martin Scorsese. He embodies the apostle Philip in The Last Temptation of Christ. The actor also appears in The Color of Money, New York Stories, Goodfellas, Casino, and The Irishman. Woody Allen offers him roles in The Purple Rose of Cairo, Radio Days, Gunshots on Broadway, and Cursed Aphrodite.



A close friend of Robert De Niro, Paul Herman plays alongside him in numerous projects. In addition to Martin Scorsese’s feature films, they both take part in Heat, The Fan, Sleepers, and Copland. In recent years, they had collaborated again together in three David O. Russell films: Happiness Therapy, American Bluff and Joy.
