Last July, Electronic Arts announced the return of poor Isaac Clarke in a remake of Dead Space. but how long have the developers been working on it?
After ten years of obviously horrific silence, Isaac Clarke will resume service in the remake of the first episode of Dead Space, which retains many mysteries for the time being. last September, the developers of the Motive studio Philippe Ducharme and Roman Campos-Oriola nevertheless spoke in front of the camera to unveil a version of the game in pre-production, qualifying it as “very early”. However, the work could have started more than a year ago.
It puts a hell of a Clarke
Our colleagues from Wccftech have indeed conducted their little investigation, and discovered that most of the main architects of the return of Dead Space had joined the Motive studio in the summer of 2020, as evidenced by their respective LinkedIn pages. This is indeed the case of the producer Philippe ducharme, who was saying goodbye to Ubisoft Montreal; from the artist specializing in special effects Maximilien Faubert, which completed the development of Star Wars Squadrons; of the environmental artist Xavier Perreault or the lead programmer Pierre-Vincent Bélisle, two other defectors from the simulation of space combat.
Everything therefore suggests that this small world has been working on the remake of Dead Space since the summer of 2020, that is to say almost a year and a half. This relatively short time in view of such a project will however have allowed the team to make many choices, since we already know that Dead Space will keep the level design of the original, will make (good) use of SSD disks. to eliminate loading times, and will even borrow some of its mechanics from Dead Space 2. Ah, and Isaac Clarke will even speak, sorry!
But that players in a hurry to find the universe This calendar obviously does not indicate the real progress of this remake, which will have the heavy task of relaunching a series that has disappeared since … 2013, and this damn third episode. The Dead Space remake is officially expected on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S, but has no release date yet.
