Since James Gunn and Peter Safran are co-CEOs of DC Studios to set up the DCU, things are moving very seriously internally, between various cancellations (Batman Beyond) and multiple decision-making. And the character of Superman seems to be at the center of all discussions.
What will become of the DCU?
We know that Henry Cavill dropped the role of Geralt de Riv to stay (in part) on his role as Superman, we even had the right to a rumor about a potential series in preparation, obviously without any formalization in the wake of the from Warner. However, the character of Superman seems to be the nerve center of the restructuring of the DCU and the entire universe in cinema. And it is not James Gunn who will say the opposite.
Thus, following one of his many interventions on Twitter, a user asked if the return of the much-loved superhero was planned. Answer :
Hey James, tell us if we’re going to see a Superman? We’ve been deprived of the biggest comic book character on the big screen for years!
Yes of course. Superman is a big priority, if not the biggest one.
It remains to be seen what the rest of the DCU has in store for us. Will we finally have the right to a Man of Steel 2? Or something totally new like a Marvel-style series and its MCU?
