When it comes to the Daytona Florida circuit and video games, the first thing that comes to mind for many gamers is the famous Daytona USA (and its legendary music by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi). But the Daytona International Speedway has appeared in other video games as well. And it is about to make its comeback in one of the most famous series of racing games.

Sony confirms that the circuit Daytona International Speedway will be present in Gran Turismo 7. And it can be browsed when the game launches on PS5 and PS4 on March 4. As the Japanese manufacturer also indicates, this is a return.

A triumphant return of Daytona in Gran Trusimo?

Indeed, the famous American circuit has in the past been present in episodes of Gran Turismo. Daytona was for example present in Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6. It was however absent from Gran Turismo Sport released in 2017 on PS4.

Players interested in Gran Turismo 7 recently got a glimpse of this new version of the Daytona circuit. The latter appeared briefly in a behind-the-scenes video of the creation of the game. And if we are to believe the site GTPlanet, this brief overview reveals some interesting information about the GT7 Daytona.

A Daytona between tradition and modernity?

This new episode would indeed reflect modifications made to the real Daytona circuit in 2020. More precisely, it would be a question here of modifications concerning the races of Nascar. Competitions such as Rolex 24 at Daytona are not affected by these alterations.

Still according to GTPlanet, this situation suggests that the Daytona of Gran Turismo 7 could have several tracks. To be sure, however, we will have to wait for the game to be released on March 4.

What do you think of the announcement of the Daytona circuit in Gran Turismo 7? Does it increase your urge to play the game? Would you rather prefer a new Daytona from SEGA? Tell us all in the comments below.
