The interview held after the screening of the documentary by Arif Keskiner, one of the legendary names of Turkish Cinema, attracted great interest.
The documentary “Bir Life Arif Keskiner”, which features sections from the life of journalist, actor, publisher director, film reporter, film director, even photo-novelist, film producer and one of the most important cornerstones of Turkish cinema, Arif Keskiner, was screened at the City Theater Hall. After the screening with the participation of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Arif Keskiner, a conversation was held under the moderation of Baran Seyhan, the producer of the documentary. Arif Keskiner, journalist-author Turhan Günay, Turkish Publishers Association President Kenan Kocatürk and writer Melih Güneş attended the conversation.
“A great cultural wealth”
Baran Seyhan, the producer of the Arif Keskiner documentary, said that there is no archival culture in our country, “I faced this once again while making the documentary and I was very upset. For example, there are no images for which he received an Honor Award at this festival, we could not find them. There is no archive for the film festival in Antalya,” he said. Seyhan stated that they tried to see Arif Keskiner not only as a filmmaker, but also from the perspective of Arif Keskiner. “For us, there was primarily a human figure of Arif Keskiner. Apart from that, there is a great wealth. This richness is a cultural treasure,” he said. Arif Keskiner, on the other hand, thanked everyone who made the documentary, “Something permanent has happened, life comes and goes. We came and we will go like everyone else. At least they should say that there is such a poor person,” he said.

“A producer is the person who plans the entire journey of a movie, from concept to sales and marketing.”
Producer Zeynep Atakan, who has her signature on important films of Turkish cinema, came together with moviegoers and students. Answering the questions of the participants, Zeynep Atakan shared her experiences on new generation methods in filmmaking. Atakan; “When a scenario is finished in Turkey, we consider it as a project. One of the most important elements of the project is the script, but for it to be called a project, there must be a director or producer next to it. Or there is no script, the producer and the director have to come together and find a screenwriter. There is a confusion of terms here. Of course, the producer puts money, first of all, he puts his labor. But the producer is the person who plans the whole journey of a movie from the idea stage to the sales and marketing stage, and continued the conversation by defining the production.
