Dune made a sensational entry into the hexagonal rooms, taking the lead in Day 1 France with 181,316 admissions! Denis Villeneuve smashes his Blade Runner 2049 record, which drew 63,881 curious people on the day of its release. This is the 5th best start of 2021 and the 6th best since the start of the pandemic.
The Canadian filmmaker’s SF fresco is behind Black Widow (184,770 admissions) and is still very far from Fast & Furious 9 and its 468,862 tickets sold on the day of its release last July. It is also preceded by the French locomotives of the summer, OSS 117 3 (210,052 spectators) and Kaamelott (423,922 fans of King Arthur).
