After having lived through difficult times in their respective careers, M. Night Shyamalan and Dave Bautista now have a series of successful productions. This is great, as the two are set to work together on the new thriller written by the director and announced in early 2023.
The rebirth of M. Night Shyamalan
After having fallen very low with the disappointments that represented The last air Master and After earth, director M. Night Shyamalan had lost the trust of the studios. The one who marked the beginning of the 2000s has since recovered and experienced a second part of his career under the sign of rebirth. His association with producer Jason Blum was the trigger for a series of box office successes that allowed him to string together projects that he had sometimes cherished for many years.
His latest achievement is entitled Old and brought in a nice jackpot of around $ 90 million. Neither one nor two, M. Night Shyamalan got down to writing a new story already validated under the Universal banner. We do not know anything about Knock at the Cabin, except that it should probably be a new thriller. Its synopsis is being kept secret and the studio checked it off on the 1er February 2023 in his diary.
Dave Bautista would have landed the lead role of Knock at the Cabin
For his part, the former wrestler Dave Bautista also experienced a crossing of the desert. While he was drowning in debt and depression lurked in him, he was saved by the cinema. Mainly in supporting roles, before gain more and more importance in the community. Its important roles in the Army of the dead by Zack Snyder, and Guardians of the Galaxy, are good examples.
According to Deadline, Bautista would have landed the lead role of Knock at the Cabin. A fine evolution towards a more written cinema, with an authorizing tendency, but which should not for all that destabilize this accustomed to the big Hollywood names. Dave Bautista has indeed toured alongside Denis Villeneuve twice (Blade Runner 2049 and Dune, while waiting for the continuation) and will cross the road of Rian Johnson for At loggerheads 2. A sequel that we are also expecting soon on Netflix.
