Showrunner Steve Blackman announced at SXSW on Sunday that the third season of “The Umbrella Academy” will premiere on June 22. Netflix also shared a teaser video with the date announcement. Iat the end of the second season, After going back to 1963 and saving the world, the new season will pick up where the Hargreeves brothers left off.
Reginald created Sparrow Academy, a stylish and smart superhero group that mirrors Umbrella Academy in a modified timeline. After a fierce conflict, the two factions must learn to band together and defeat a new entity that threatens to destroy everything. The promotional text from Netflix included the following statements; “Can they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic life? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a mistake in the timeline?”
The second season of “The Umbrella Academy” premiered two years ago with extremely high viewership numbers. The third season has been highly anticipated since its announcement in November 2020. The new season will consist of 10 episodes and will feature “Euphoria’s” Javon “Wanna” Walton in a new, undisclosed role. Also in the cast are Elliot Page as Vanya, Tom Hopper as Luther, David Castañeda as Diego, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, Aidan Gallagher as Five, Justin H. Min as Ben, Colm Feore as Reginald, Ritu as Lila. Arya as Justin Cornwell as Marcus, Britne Oldford as Fei, Jake Epstein as Alphonso, Sloane Genesis Rodriguez, and as Jayme Cazzie David takes place.
“The Umbrella Academy” is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá. The series tells the story of a group of siblings with supernatural abilities who are born around the world without any warning. The team, brought together by their father, use their power to stop evil forces around the world and across time zones.
