The refurbishment of the Dark Souls PC servers will ultimately not be done. Explanations.
It’s over for Dark Souls PC servers
The drama of the return of PC servers for the DS trilogy resumes, and unfortunately, the situation will not get better. If those of Dark Souls 3 are operational, this will never be the case of those of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition.
The official Twitter account of the game has indeed published a message to inform the players.
We have determined that we will not be able to re-enable online services for the PC version of DS: Prepare to Die Edition which was released in 2012. This is due to the aging of the system. We apologize for the long wait and ask for your understanding.
The ax has fallen! Originally, FromSoftware had to unplug everything in a hurry before the launch ofElden Ring. A flaw allowed malicious people to infiltrate players’ games in order to steal sensitive data.
But there is still something positive in this story. Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (DirectX11) online features have been re-enabled. On the other hand, for the classic DirectX9 version, the teams still need time.
