I said to Barbara a long time ago, in 2006, “If I do all these movies and we succeed, can we kill it.” And she replied: “Yes, we can”. And I was thinking about myself, about my career and trying to think about how this would all work out. I was also thinking about what they could do with Casino Royale. They had the chance to reinvent themselves with that because they went back to the beginning. Now they can reset everything again. It seems like a great decision.
The death of James Bond will therefore go down in history. At present, the license seems to be in the midst of restructuring. The producers seek a priori, in the shadows, a replacement for Daniel Craig. For the moment, no actor has been officially announced. But it is rumored that Aaron Taylor-Johnson could be in pole position to take over the Agent 007 costume.
