Cry Macho trailer: Clint Eastwood embarks on a high-risk rescue

Vincent formica

–Cinema journalist

Cradled from an early age by New Hollywood cinema, Vincent Formica very early discovered the works of Martin Scorsese, Coppola, De Palma and Steven Spielberg. Thanks to these cinema godfathers, he will learn to love the 7th art deeply, forging an eclectic cinephilia.

After The Richard Jewell Case, released in February 2020, Clint Eastwood is back in the cinema with Cry Macho. This new work by the legendary filmmaker will land in theaters on November 10, 2021.

Clint Eastwood, who recently celebrated his 91st Spring, is not yet ready to retire! The legendary actor and director is back behind and especially in front of the camera in Cry Macho. His last appearance as an actor dates back to 2019 in La Mule, in which he played an old man carrying drugs for a cartel.

This time, the legendary comedian slips under the hat of Mike Milo, former rodeo star and worn-out horse breeder. He accepts a mission from one of his former bosses: to fetch the latter’s young son in Mexico to bring him back to the United States.

Forced to take secondary roads to Texas, the two men embark on a journey of which they have not realized the difficulties. Against all odds, the disillusioned horse trainer crosses paths with old acquaintances and finds his own form of redemption.

The first images of this drama, the plot of which is set in 1979, are very attractive. They evoke a mix between Merciless and Gran Torino. The first by its western side and wide open spaces and the second by its themes, in particular transmission, through the relationship between the character of Clint and that of the young Mexican (Eduardo Minett).

This story of redemption was written by N. Richard Nash and Nick Schenk (screenwriter of Gran Torino and The Mule for Eastwood). Note that Arnold Schwarzenegger was approached almost ten years ago to take the lead role of this project.

Cry Macho will be Clint Eastwood’s 39th film production and the 24th feature film in which he officiates both in front of and behind the camera. It will be released on November 10 in our theaters. The legend continues!
