To embody the boxer Adonis Creed for the 3rd time, Michael B. Jordan has left to lift cast iron in the gym! The actor shows us his drastic training in video.
Expected for November 2022, Creed 3 will be directed by Michael B. Jordan himself. The actor succeeds Ryan Coogler and Steven Caple, taking over the reins of the saga that began in 2015.
It will be the first feature film of Jordan, who will have the heavy task of playing Adonis Creed for the 3rd time, emancipating himself from the aura of Sylvester Stallone, who will not reprise his role as Rocky.
“Creed 3 is the right time. I am at a point in my life where I have the necessary maturity, both personal and professional, to embark on my own story. I have learned a lot from Ryan Coogler, and more recently with Denzel Washington, among other filmmakers I respect “, he confided last March.
“Creed is a saga that resonates deeply with me. I can’t wait to share the next episode in Adonis Creed’s story, as director and headliner, which is a huge responsibility.”, he thought.
Michael B. Jordan therefore feels ready to take off, taking sole control of a cult franchise, like Stallone with Rocky II. The shooting being imminent, the artist is back in the room for an intensive training!
His sports coach, Corey Calliet, shared on Instagram a video of the actor in full effort, already showing impressive musculature, especially biceps. The actor has managed to sculpt a body worthy of the high-level athlete he must embody.
Note that to be credible as a sharp boxer, Jordan has already followed a drastic program for previous films. With a rhythm of 6 days of training per week he managed to reach his goal with a gain of 15 kilos of muscle mass. A mind-blowing physical transformation for the actor, now 34 years old.
In this new opus, Adonis Creed will face a formidable opponent played by Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country). Tessa Thompson will be back as Creed’s fiancée Bianca. As for Phylicia Rashad, she will play again Mary Anne, the boxer’s mother. See you in the ring in November 2022!
