The filming of “Creed III” has begun under the direction of Michael B. Jordan. First images of the shooting have just found their way on the net. Clichés in which the actor Jonathan Majors appears, muscular as ever!
Creed: little backtracking
In 2016, Ryan Coogler directs the excellent Creed – The Legacy of Rocky Balboa. Just ten years after the release of Rocky BalboaSylvester Stallone is back in the skin of the famous boxer in this new sequel. But this time the Italian stallion is in the background. The iconic boxer acts as a mentor for Adonis Creed the son of his late friend Apollo Creed, played by the talented Michael B. Jordan.

Creed met with some success with more than $173 million in box office receipts for a budget of 35 million. Sylvester Stallone is even nominated in the category of Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars. In 2018, Warner produced Creed II, a direct sequel to the first film that recalls the entire cast: Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, and Tessa Thompson. Ryan Coogler is still producing, but it is filmmaker Steven Caple Jr. who is directing the film. Creed II receives colder critical returns, but yields more than $214 million in revenue (for a budget of 50 million).
Michael B. Jordan behind the camera
Expected November 2022, Creed III began filming. While Michael B. Jordan will once again reprise the role of Adonis Creed, the comedian will also be behind the camera. Indeed, he was chosen by Warner to stage this third opus, which will therefore be his very first production. For the moment, we don’t really know what this new part will be about. We simply know that in addition to Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, and Phylicia Rashad, the film will also feature Jonathan Majors in a yet undisclosed role.
But in view of the shooting photos that have just leaked on the web, Jonathan Majors will obviously play a fighter in Creed III. The actor has indeed taken an impressive muscle mass, which suggests a physical role.
Jonathan Majors begins to multiply roles. He has distinguished himself in the past in Captive State and especially on the Netflix side with The Chicago Seven, Da 5 Bloods, or the excellent The Harder They Fall. The actor also appeared in two successful series: Lovecraft Country and obviously Lokiin which he embodies the dangerous Kang the Conqueror. A role that he will resume in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in particular for the needs of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
