In “Creed 2”, broadcast this Sunday evening on France 2, Sylvester Stallone enthusiastically resumes his iconic role of Rocky Balboa. However, the actor feels a big regret with this film…
In the feature film Creed 2, broadcast this Sunday evening on France 2, Adonis finds himself in the ring opposed to a certain Viktor Drago. For Rocky Balboa, the young boxer’s mentor, he is not an adversary like the others, Viktor being the son of Ivan Drago, the Russian giant he faced several decades earlier in Rocky IV.
Creed 2 therefore allows Sylvester Stallone to forge a link with one of the most famous parts of the pugilistic saga. But that’s not all! The film released in theaters in early 2019 not only allows the actor to find his iconic character of Rocky Balboa, but also to once again give the reply to Dolph Lundgren, the interpreter of Ivan Drago.
The reunion between Stallone and Lundgren in Creed 2 could have been even more significant, as a fight between the two men was cut in the edit. To the chagrin of “Sly”, who outright shared a rehearsal of the scene in question on social media!
“What you see was a rehearsal for a little fight Rocky was supposed to have with Drago in Creed 2, in the hospital, right after Adonis suffered a terrible loss to Draco’s son”, says Stallone.
“Adonis suffers a lot and asks me to leave…”, continues the bodybuilder actor. “Drago and the promoter then arrive with the film crew! They had planned to go upstairs to harass the defeated fighter but Rocky stops them!!! It would have been amazing! But unfortunately it was cut in the edit. .. Pity…”

Good news for fans of the saga: a third Creed film is expected in theaters next November. If Michael B. Jordan will put on the gloves again to embody Adonis and will even take the opportunity to go behind the camera, Stallone, on the other hand, will not be back in the role of Rocky Balboa. And the dreams of a new fight with Ivan Drago to definitely fly away..
