Control 2: finally the good news we've been waiting for!

It’s confirmed, in addition to Alan Wake 2, Remedy has just formalized the development of Control 2, still supported by 505 Games, which will take care of the edition.

A sequel eagerly awaited by fans, since Remedy was able to create a surprise with its new IP in 2019. If Control was already an ambitious title, in particular by wanting to create a real extended universe of which Alan Wake 2 should also be part, Control 2 should go even further, it promises to be huge.

Control 2, an even more ambitious game than the first?

As Remedy CEO Tero Virtala points out, Control 2 is currently “the biggest budget Control game”, the very one that was until now codenamed Heron. For his part, when his statementdirector Mikael Kasurinen, does not hesitate to present it as something completely unexpected, “a new leap into the unknown”.

With Control, we have jumped into the unknown. We wanted to create something new. Something different, in a world like no other. With Control 2, we will take another leap into the unknown. It will be an unexpected journey. It’s going to take time, but the least I can say is that it’s the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on.

Remedy on all fronts

For its part, 505 Games says it is happy to “be able to deepen its partnership with Remedy”. I have to say that control is a small success for the publisher since the software has sold more than 3 million copies since its release. seeing a sequel happen was therefore almost obvious, but until today, nothing had been formalized.

Control 2 and is now grafted onto other studio projects, including of course Alan Wake 2, but also a multiplayer title in the same universe. Currently codenamed Condor, the game is currently being developed by Remedy’s Vanguard team.
