


On the Twitter account the anime adaptation of »Raven of the Inner Palace« (Japanese: »Koukyuu no Karasu«) was released today announcedthat it will be broadcast on Japanese television from October 1, 2022. A new trailer can be found further down in this article.

The mystery anime is being directed by Chizuru Miyawaki (»Gintama Season 4«) at the Bandai Namco Pictures studio. The script is being written by Satomi Ooshima (»Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko«), while Shinji Takeuchi (»Gintama«) is providing character design.
It stars Saku Mizuno (Rena in “Selection Project”) as Ryuu Jusetsu, Masaaki Mizunaka (Baji in “Tokyo Revengers”) as Ka Koushun, Taku Yashiro (Tsubasa Tanuma in “Kaguya-sama”) as Eisei, and Marika Kono ( Akari Miyano in Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma) as Jiujiu.
The original light novel was penned by Kouko Shirakawa and was published in Japan in April 2018 with illustrations by Ayuko. The US publisher Seven Seas will release the first volume with an English translation in February 2023. This can already be pre-ordered.

Plot:
Uki is an imperial concubine who, however, was never summoned to the emperor’s bedchambers and thus leads a unique life in the harem. Some have seen her as an old woman and others as a young lady. She is known for her mysterious magic, which helps her find lost objects or cast curses. When a circumstance leads the Emperor to seek out Uki, their encounter will change history.
